5 Fall/Winter Kate Spade New York Outfits You Can Emulate Until It's Actually F/W18

Watching a Kate Spade New York Fashion Show and not being able to buy the clothes until the next season is like knowing what Santa Claus got you for Christmas but not being able to open the presents until Christmas morning. Checking back to see the Fall/Winter KSNY looks on the runway throughout the year until Fall starts is the equivalent of checking where your parents stashed the Christmas presents whenever they're asleep but not being able to wear them to school until after winter break. Seeing the outfits online makes you feel so close, but so far away from satisfaction.

I'm not a very patient person, and the only way I can keep my cool waiting to finally wear the outfits I've been persistently checking up on for the past six months is to imitate the looks from the runway using my own closet. I've broken down my 5 favorite looks from the F/W18 show that I'll be hanging onto until the fall, and created outfit formulas to customize the look for you. I've added pieces from current Kate Spade collections amongst other clothes you should have in your closet to complete the ensemble.

1. Victorian Turtleneck + Long Jumpsuit + Black Kitten Heels

I'm definitely eyeing up that pinstripe jumpsuit, but until it comes out, I'll just have to improvise with similar pieces. Here are the items that I have reimagined as an outfit.

2. Black Turtleneck Layer + Long Denim Skirt + Knee High Boots

Kate Spade has a thing for ruffles and Victorian-era collared turtlenecks (as do I), and styling them underneath a flashy layer. I can imagine myself imitating this look with just a simple black turtleneck, denim midi skirt, and knee high boots.

3. Black Fur Coat + Dark Wash Flare Jeans + Bandana

Out of all of these outfits, this look feels the most "me" to me. I'm drooling over the black fur coat, but I love how the whole outfit is dressed down with flare jeans. Catch me wearing this outfit in all seasons except for summer using these pieces.

4. Monochrome Turtleneck + Shearling Coat + Black Flats

Monochrome has been on my mind ever since the trend stood out last season. Instead of playing it safe with a black turtleneck paired with a black leather jacket, mix it up with a standout color of your choosing. Instead of black, I'll go with a lilac color.

5. Black Cap + Statement Coat + Raw Hem Jeans

Kate Spade's fresh take on the animal-print frenzy this season was the gorgeous cow-print coat. Until this coat is up for grabs, I will try out different statement coats paired with laid back raw hem jeans and a black cap.

Check out my latest CollegeFashionista article!

During the week, how easy is it to get caught up in daydreams about the warm sand, waves crashing, and the cool salty breezes? Fortunately, it isn’t hard to bring those daydreams of our favorite beach getaways with us into the city.  If you’re pining away for the beach, perhaps a few summer prints and pastel colors in your outfit can satiate your coastline blues. No sand required.

8 Things You'll Need This Fall (via Pinterest)

I know it may not seem like it, but in just over a month, you won't be having a panic attack trying to turn on the air conditioning once you get to your room. Soon we won't be seeing 95 degrees on the weather forecast every day and the world will be at peace. Summer is slowly starting to end and cool weather will soon be approaching.
Since we're already ahead, I went ahead and picked out eight things that have been on my lists to have this upcoming season. Here are 8 pieces (plus some things to pair with them) that you should keep on your radar this fall!

White Tennis Shoes (Source)
These babies will go with every outfit and pop with even the darkest colors for all you goths out there who wear black all year round.

Oversized Fuzzy Coat (Source)
Sometimes it's fun to be a little diva on the streets. While it may be ridiculous in the suburbs to flaunt a giant fur coat, in the city this fall it'll be hot to wear these back-in-style coats.

Button Down Shirts with Stripey Layers (Source)
My favorite thing about the fall is adding on the layers because there are so many different ways to show off your style. I love the frayed denim here and how she added the stripes instead of just leaving the button down alone.

Bell-Sleeves paired with Turtleneck and Black Booties (Source)
We've seen bell sleeves everywhere this summer but an even better look this fall will be layering it with a turtleneck for an even better step up.

Bandana Necklace (Source)
I'm sure you've also seen your fair share of bandanas this summer, but I really like the way they look with fall neutrals and layers more than I like them with tanks and shorts.

Wide-Leg Pants (Source)
Obviously plaid is a classic that is never going anywhere, but paired with a necktie and wide-leg army green pants, this flannel has a little bit of a makeover.

Lace Up Shoes (Source)
Also seen a lot this summer, these shoes will see a second wave in the fall paired with warmer items like boyfriend jeans and oversized wovens.

All-Denim Look (Source)

My favorite part about denim is that it will never go out of style :) I can't wait to go denim-on-denim this fall while staying warm.

The Magic of New York

New York City is a weird place with millions of people who don't match together but somehow blend together perfectly.

There are so many different kinds of people from all over the world who call NYC their home.  With so many different types of people here, everyone is trying to show themselves in a way that makes them unique. Everyone chooses outfits every day that represents their personal brand.

There is no one uniform when it comes to style in Manhattan. People dress how they want and how they want others to see them. No matter how crazy or reserved you are when it comes to style, everything goes when you're in New York City.
