5 Outfits I Would Wear On My Guest Appearance On Law and Order: SVU

Every day that passes is one day closer to the day I have a guest appearance alongside of Mariska Hargitay and Ice T on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I've grown up watching marathons of the show on days off of school and now I catch up with the series every chance I get on Hulu. My dream has always been to be an extra on the show, so just in case that day is coming up soon, I sat down and thought about what potential roles I would play. Whether I'm just an extra in a scene or I'm highly sought after by the casting director for my celebrity guest appearance, I know I'll be ready to perform. Since the show takes place in NYC, it's very easy for me to imagine what kind of outfits I'd wear. Here are the 5 roles and outfits I would wear if I was on an episode:

1. Role: French Tourist Witness Who Identifies Suspect In Lineup At The Precinct.
I'll set the scene. I'm a French tourist who was minding her own business in Central Park and snapping some pics when I witness the bad guy run out of the woods. After he has been caught, Ice T catches up with me and realizes that I would be a great eye-witness. Even though I have to catch a flight back to Marseille, I reluctantly agree to drop by the precinct to identify the suspect.
2. Role: Former Best Friend Of The Missing Girl
When my ex-best friend went missing after school, the detectives discovered that we had a dramatic falling out on social media days before. This is the outfit I'd be wearing when Olivia Benson knocks on the door of my parent's apartment to question our sudden arguments.

3. Role: Pop Star Who Doesn't Think The Rules Apply To Her
Playing a pop star who is infamous for breaking the law, this is the outfit I'd wear on the talk show to tell the media that I'm dedicated to change my ways. The SVU Squad watching the show from the precinct will all be discussing that they aren't buying a word I say.

4. Role: Woman Who Witnessed The Whole Thing Go Down While Shopping In The Bodega.
Even if my only line is pointing across the street and shouting, "He went that way, officers!", you know that my outfit will be the most memorable part of that entire episode.

5. Role: Estranged Friend Who Knew The Victim From Childhood Summer Camp And Has Clues From The Past.
The victim and I have definitely gone our separate ways since bunking together at a summer camp a decade ago, but for whatever reasons I know enough about the victim from a six-week long camp in 2008 to help the detectives find out where she is located.

5 Fall/Winter Kate Spade New York Outfits You Can Emulate Until It's Actually F/W18

Watching a Kate Spade New York Fashion Show and not being able to buy the clothes until the next season is like knowing what Santa Claus got you for Christmas but not being able to open the presents until Christmas morning. Checking back to see the Fall/Winter KSNY looks on the runway throughout the year until Fall starts is the equivalent of checking where your parents stashed the Christmas presents whenever they're asleep but not being able to wear them to school until after winter break. Seeing the outfits online makes you feel so close, but so far away from satisfaction.

I'm not a very patient person, and the only way I can keep my cool waiting to finally wear the outfits I've been persistently checking up on for the past six months is to imitate the looks from the runway using my own closet. I've broken down my 5 favorite looks from the F/W18 show that I'll be hanging onto until the fall, and created outfit formulas to customize the look for you. I've added pieces from current Kate Spade collections amongst other clothes you should have in your closet to complete the ensemble.

1. Victorian Turtleneck + Long Jumpsuit + Black Kitten Heels

I'm definitely eyeing up that pinstripe jumpsuit, but until it comes out, I'll just have to improvise with similar pieces. Here are the items that I have reimagined as an outfit.

2. Black Turtleneck Layer + Long Denim Skirt + Knee High Boots

Kate Spade has a thing for ruffles and Victorian-era collared turtlenecks (as do I), and styling them underneath a flashy layer. I can imagine myself imitating this look with just a simple black turtleneck, denim midi skirt, and knee high boots.

3. Black Fur Coat + Dark Wash Flare Jeans + Bandana

Out of all of these outfits, this look feels the most "me" to me. I'm drooling over the black fur coat, but I love how the whole outfit is dressed down with flare jeans. Catch me wearing this outfit in all seasons except for summer using these pieces.

4. Monochrome Turtleneck + Shearling Coat + Black Flats

Monochrome has been on my mind ever since the trend stood out last season. Instead of playing it safe with a black turtleneck paired with a black leather jacket, mix it up with a standout color of your choosing. Instead of black, I'll go with a lilac color.

5. Black Cap + Statement Coat + Raw Hem Jeans

Kate Spade's fresh take on the animal-print frenzy this season was the gorgeous cow-print coat. Until this coat is up for grabs, I will try out different statement coats paired with laid back raw hem jeans and a black cap.

8 Things You'll Need This Fall (via Pinterest)

I know it may not seem like it, but in just over a month, you won't be having a panic attack trying to turn on the air conditioning once you get to your room. Soon we won't be seeing 95 degrees on the weather forecast every day and the world will be at peace. Summer is slowly starting to end and cool weather will soon be approaching.
Since we're already ahead, I went ahead and picked out eight things that have been on my lists to have this upcoming season. Here are 8 pieces (plus some things to pair with them) that you should keep on your radar this fall!

White Tennis Shoes (Source)
These babies will go with every outfit and pop with even the darkest colors for all you goths out there who wear black all year round.

Oversized Fuzzy Coat (Source)
Sometimes it's fun to be a little diva on the streets. While it may be ridiculous in the suburbs to flaunt a giant fur coat, in the city this fall it'll be hot to wear these back-in-style coats.

Button Down Shirts with Stripey Layers (Source)
My favorite thing about the fall is adding on the layers because there are so many different ways to show off your style. I love the frayed denim here and how she added the stripes instead of just leaving the button down alone.

Bell-Sleeves paired with Turtleneck and Black Booties (Source)
We've seen bell sleeves everywhere this summer but an even better look this fall will be layering it with a turtleneck for an even better step up.

Bandana Necklace (Source)
I'm sure you've also seen your fair share of bandanas this summer, but I really like the way they look with fall neutrals and layers more than I like them with tanks and shorts.

Wide-Leg Pants (Source)
Obviously plaid is a classic that is never going anywhere, but paired with a necktie and wide-leg army green pants, this flannel has a little bit of a makeover.

Lace Up Shoes (Source)
Also seen a lot this summer, these shoes will see a second wave in the fall paired with warmer items like boyfriend jeans and oversized wovens.

All-Denim Look (Source)

My favorite part about denim is that it will never go out of style :) I can't wait to go denim-on-denim this fall while staying warm.

The Magic of New York

New York City is a weird place with millions of people who don't match together but somehow blend together perfectly.

There are so many different kinds of people from all over the world who call NYC their home.  With so many different types of people here, everyone is trying to show themselves in a way that makes them unique. Everyone chooses outfits every day that represents their personal brand.

There is no one uniform when it comes to style in Manhattan. People dress how they want and how they want others to see them. No matter how crazy or reserved you are when it comes to style, everything goes when you're in New York City.

Inspiration from NYFW Fall 2016

Before I knew that I was in love with the topic of fashion, I would see outfits on the street and memorize them by writing them down on notes in my phone or by drawing them in my notebook. I started teaching myself how to change the looks to fit my own taste and to create more outfits based on those looks. I started stumbling upon fashion Instagrams that gave me constant inspiration. Flash forward to today, I anxiously wait for Fashion Week each season so that I can spend hours analyzing the new collections and imagining how each designer finalized their choice pieces for their brand. Even though I'm half way around the world, I've already started picking apart what I love from my favorite designers.

Here are my favorite looks from my 8 favorite designers so far from NYFW 2016.

1. Alice + Olivia - Stacey Bendet

I'm loving this look because of the colors. Pink and red are colors that usually aren't casually mixed into an outfit, but I think that the combination of the tight shirt and loose pants make the outfit work. I love the hat and how it is simple enough to work with both of the colors. Very interested in the bag as well!

Light pink is one of my favorite trends this year. Also the tied scarves will always be something I would wear. Alice + Olivia always finds ways to tie the best looks together.

Bohemian!! I love that Bohemian vibes are starting to be translated in more mature fashions so that you can dress like you're going to a music festival on an every-day basis.

Shoes. Dress. Scarf. I can see myself wearing this outfit to a coffee date in Florence :)

I'm loving the short dress with the long coat. I'm always looking for more excuses to wear my black trench coat, and nights out on crisp nights make the perfect occasion. The black booties tie everything together by being low-key enough to not take away from the detail of the dress.

Always in love with fall florals.

2. Coach - Designer: Reed Krakoff

Fur coats! I love this coat and the boots that are just a little bit more cool in a metallic color.

There is never a bad time to wear this coat in the winter. If I had this coat and paired it with these cute neutral colored booties, I would never need new clothes ever again.

Coach always finds the best ways to do fall florals.

Need this jacket.

3. Diane von Furstenberg - Diane von Furstenberg

My favorite part about this look is the fur on the vest. This appeals to me because the color would work with any outfit for fall. Maroon is a color that is always popular in the fall, and will never go out of style. I like stocking up on maroon colored clothing for the fall to be able to combine them will all of the rest of the pieces in my closet.

I love the fall floral aspect of this long dress combined with the fringe bag. I feel like this outfit is the perfect way to transform your summer fashion into the colder weather. All of the pieces in the outfit would work individually in the summer, but paired together this is a perfect look for the fall. I'm such a fan of the necklace as well. Just a simple touch makes the whole look complete.

Again I am a fan of the maroon colors in fall fashion and I love the elegant accessories such as the fur bag and fall-floral scarf.

I love the all black look with the hint of florals in the shirt. Yet another great way to extend the life of your summer clothes into the fall while still staying seasonally appropriate. With a pair of tights, this look can be worn well into late November.

This dress is perfect for a night out or a formal in the fall. When I'm picking a dress for a special occasion, I try to make sure I'm not wearing a simple black dress, so this dress stands out with the black lace and white trims.

4. J. Crew

J. Crew is always my favorite brand when it comes to adding layers. I've seen a lot of collections with loose-fitting jeans recently, but I love how J. Crew matches the loose casual jeans with high fashion heels with straps to make the look more sophisticated. Adding the tan trench coat twists the bright colors in the shirt into a more visually pleasing fall aesthetic. J. Crew is known for bright and fun colors, but they really know how to make color-lovers happy even in the fall months.

I can always count on this brand to know exactly how to make a neutral colored outfit pop. This yellow scarf works perfectly with the more low-key colors in the outfit, but matches so perfectly with the shoes that add a little spunk for a fall outfit.

Loving the shoes. These shoes with the cropped jeans are perfect for when it's just starting to get a little colder but is still hot during the day. This look is perfect street style and definitely my favorite look of the collection.

I love the business-casual vibes of this outfit. Stripes are always a classic go-to for clothes and the leather black skirt gives the outfit some edge for the fall.
Favorite outfit of the Kate Spade collection. I love the leather jacket and stripes. The floral shoes make the outfit a bit more fun because they just pop out of the subtle pieces of the outfit.
I can see myself wearing this romper and shoes in the summer, but paired with the black coat, this outfit works into the fall, especially during the September days that turn cold when you're least expecting it.

Favorite look of the collection.

Loving the aztec vibes and maroon boots with fringe. The cozy sweater looks so comfortable in this neutral colored outfit.

I'm a huge fan of the baggy pants with the heels. I'm also obsessed with the coordinating fringe of the aztec-printed jacket and shoes.

8. Zimmermann - Nicky and Simone Zimmermann

I'm always a fan of the colors and patterns of Zimmermann that never disappoint.
